What's for dinner?

I used to cook for stress relief but now I just cook for fun! I prefer crunchy things (that is my downfall). However, my husband prefers meat and potatoes. I have a garden and only grow the things I like to eat.

I'm also a beginning quilter and make homemade cards when the urge strikes me.

I'm a fairly young retiree (55) on a budget.

Mama Capitos Italian Steak which takes a long time. My Parmesan Chicken takes only 30 minutes so we have it a lot. Taco Salads are a favorite.

I have a lot of zucchini bread in my freezer because I had a lot of zucchini this year and we didn't give it all away and couldn't eat it all.

I grew up in a family of 7 and when I did cook it was with ingredients we got free or on food stamps. I did enjoy cooking, though.

The recipe is very very hard to understand because evidently no one proofread it. It needs resubmitted correctly. Then I might try it.

Frank's Famous Sausage Gravy

Frank's Famous Sausage Gravy

I have been experimenting a bit with this recipe. I tried it with maple sausage=good. Add worchestershire sauce=very good. I have to add canola oil to this every time since I've found the flour amount excessive. My husband likes this recipe every time I make it. No matter how doctored I've made it. 1 Tablespoon of black pepper is waaaay too much. I also do not use the tabasco sauce. I guess the worchestershire takes the place of it. The moral here, I guess, is experiment around with this recipe. it's a good basic recipe.
