Hi, I currently live in Texarkana, but I'm originally from the Houston area. My parents are Mexican. I like authentic Mexican food (of course) but I'm always looking for something new to try. This is how I came to find this website!!
I've always made a lot of Mexican food which I learned to cook from both my mother and my father, but lately I've been trying southern cusine as well as Cajun (with some success). My neighbors all seem to make the best southern dishes, it's really got me excited to get out of the rut I've been in and start branching out.

Big Jim's Seafood GumboThis was excellent! I made it for my cajun cook friends and they said it was great. The roux took me about 40 minutes though. They told me it normally didn't take that long, but it was certainly great.

Thank you for the medal!! When are you going to start posting recipes? There are a lot of Mexican foodies on this site that would go wild for some authentic Mex. Check out my recipes, they are almost all Mexican. Thanks again.

Thanks trying the gumbo. I have some more Cajun recipes, but I lost my camera (Damn it!) and will soon replace it and start posting again soon!!
