About me
We are the families with an Alder Slope heritage.. Alder Slope nestles at the base of of the Wallow Mountains, which wrap around two sides of the old Thompson Ranch. The ranch looks due east at the Seven Devils in Idaho, with the Snake River canyon cutting deep between them.
The Thompson Ranch was ran by Raymond Thompson, with Vera Thompson as the head cook and chief dairy maid. Vera and her mother before her had been ranch cooks, and were followed by Vera's daughter Nelda, who for a time was the head cook at the Warm Springs school. It was from these people that many of our recipes originated from.
