About me

I have been happily married for 25 years now! We live in Portland, Maine.  We have 3 grown children out on there own, 1 son and 2 daughters. We are waiting for the grandchilden to love and spoil them.  Wow time flies when your having fun!  I have been an ebay seller for the last few years.  I have an ebay store and lots of things to get listed to sell.   I am fortunate enough to be able to stay at home with our pets and I ebay when I can.  We have a cocker spaniel  and 2 cats .  I enjoy baking, walking with my Buddy, music and my iphone has brought me so much fun! My iphone is how I found Big Oven and how I got started with this.  This totally amazes me and I love it!

My Favorite Foods

Hi,  I guess you would say I love to make cookies and desserts, if you look at what I have posted and put into my favorites so far!   I do enjoy baking for the holidays and I love to give my cookies as gifts to my family and friends not to mention  I eat my share while doing it.  Out of all the recipes I have posted my very favorite are the Italian Cookies with the white icing,  I absolutely love them the most.  I have not missed a year in over 35 years of making these for Christmas.

I am looking forward to trying new recipes and having fun with Big Oven.  I'm not big on cooking meals, I don't eat much for meats and I am totally happy with a salad and pasta for dinner and a cookie or two for dessert.  My husband is an excellent cook and I hope to be watching him more closely to get amounts and write done some of my favorite recipes of his. He doesn't measure anything so it's hard.  I know I have a few recipes like that.

for pistachio nut cake. How do you make the frosting. are you just mixing the ingredients, cooking? thanks

Hello again! :) Actually, instead of the coconut cake, try the Apricot Nector Cake. It's much easier, and very, very tasty. Thanks for the nice comment.

Thanks for both the medal you awarded me and the wonderful comments! Your grandparents Italian Cookie recipe is very similar to an anise cookie that my paternal grandmother made for the holidays when I was a young boy. Her recipe included lots of toasted ground hazelnuts in the dough and she would sometimes put red and green sprinkles on the frosted cookies...thanks for bring back some fond memories for me!

Thank you so much for the medal! Made my day. Welcome aboard!
