About me

  I live outside a small town in Texas on 18 acres.  I like living in the country, camping, the beach, cooking, computer games, reading, fishing, gardening, and spending time with my family. I have two grown sons and a little grandson.  My oldest son is a U.S. Marine and he's currently stationed in Virginia Beach, VA with his wife and son.  I miss them and many of the recipes I've posted here on Big Oven are so my son can use them when he misses mom's cooking.

Thank you SOOOOO much for my FIRST metal : ) : ) These little rolls are really to die for! Congratulations on going to college, go slow at first not to be overwhelmed, and then add on more each semester until you feel it is enough for you to have a balanced life.

Thank you for the Medal. I have always loved to cook but for some reason right now I'm trying to compile all my recipes so they can be passed down and shared with my family.

This is recipe I use for Corn Pudding. 5 eggs 1/3 cup butter, melted 1/4 cup white sugar 1/2 cup pet milk (or other condensed milk) 4 tablespoons cornstarch 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn 2 (14.75 ounce) cans cream-style corn Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 2 quart casserole(I use butter) Ina large bowl,lightly beat eggs,add melted butter and milk. Stir sugar and corn starch together and add to mix. Stir in corn and blend well. Pour mixture into prepared casserole dish. Bake for 1 hour or untill pudding is set and brown on top. Knife should come out clean.
