About me

I am a 34 year old pharmacy techinician who lives in the "coal cracker" region of northeastern PA with my guy.  I love to cook, while he is an expert at ordering out. I have to say that just until about 10 years ago, I was "cooking challenged". I caught bacon on fire in the microwave, boiled over water on the stove every time, and gave my now ex-husband food poisoning 3 times (and yes, it was accidental, honest)! SO, that's when I became obsessed with learning how to cook and said enough is enough! I'm done being laughed at! So, I borrowed a ton of cookbooks from family members and one of my aunts loaned me a "Taste of Home". In this magazine, everything looked amazing and every recipe I tried came out so good that other people actually asked me for the recipe and raved about the taste. Soon I was a subscriber to that magazine and so many others, that I had to find a software to hold all my recipes...and today....well....that's how I found BigOven! My boyfriend bought it for me for my birthday and here I am! I love it!

My Favorite Foods

My favorite foods I would say are more "comfort foods". I love cheese and hearty dishes. I have never been a fan of vegetables, so any vegetable-containing recipes you'll see in my site have to taste pretty darn good! Since I work full time and am a very busy person, I expecially enjoy those recipes with minimal effort and especially minimal time, while not sacrificing taste. Growing up in this area, we are used to alot of ethnic foods, mainly Polish and Italian, such as pierogi, halushki, beer-battered veggies, keilbasa, potato pancakes, stromboli, gnocchi, chicken wings, and some of the best pizza in the world!
