About Me I am a retired *Los Angeles City Fireman* (Yes, I know today it is politically correct to say firefighter. I have never been PC and in 1959 when I joined the department we were known as *Firemen*.) I spend 28 years on the job and most of the time as the station cook. Fireman will eat almost anything they can chew, or so I found out. It was fun expermenting over the years. Most of what I know about cooking was learned from my mother. She was a first generation Italian born in Alabama and did magic in the kitchen. Some of the recipes I have enjoyed will be posted on the BigOven site. I hope you may find them to your liking.
