About me

I LOVE ALL THINGS EPICUREAN. I like to spend weekends roaming around New England, cooking, spending time with friends, sipping cocktails or wine with my husband, reading magazines, books, blogs and Chuck Lorre's vanity cards. I am a pretty silly girl with a few quirks and a lot of dreams.

My Favorite Foods

I love a good thai curry, spicy creole foods from my hometown N'Awlins and sumptuous desserts. Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday and I have only come up with one or two dishes that I can say are the ones. It's my favorite experimental cooking day!!

A very good friend showed me the easiest and tastiest cranberry sauce that I make every year. The only other recipe I count on is another one from "down home" called macque choux, which is a vegetable side dish made with corn, shrimp & tasso.

Thanks for the recipe on Roux. and what two dishes are The One. do you make Stuffing I have a good one for that at least my family thinks so.

It's part science and part art. You start with your fat (butter or vegetable oil), get it pretty hot over medium heat. Then gradually add flour, whisking to prevent lumps. As the mixture begins to darken begin adding stock or beer to flavor. At this point you can add onion, scallions & garlic to season your roux. When making my first roux, I burned two before getting it just right. Good luck!!

Hello, Have a question for you.How do you make a Rue I know thats not the correct spelling, but its the gravy for Gumbo. do you know?being fromN'Awlins lol
