About me
I was born in Mississippi and have lived in the southeastern US for most of my life, which is funny considering I've always preferred cooler weather. I'm not the sort of person most people would expect to enjoy cooking; I play a lot of video games and spend a lot of time on computers, I don't have children, I don't throw a lot of social events. I am, however, the oldest child in a family in which both parents worked and regularly take care of my nieces and nephews, so I've had to be able to cook. It's only recently, though, that I've started to enjoy it. Besides cooking, I do a lot of reading and writing. By profession, I am an artist, working in several two dimensional media, including oil paints, crayon, and photography. I also learned to knit in college (in Minnesota) and heartily wish I still lived in a climate that made this a more practical skill.
My Favorite Foods
I was born in a tiny town of Creole and Cajun people on the Gulf Coast and those are the types of foods I still enjoy most. I also lived in Japan for a while as a child and LOVE Japanese food, though it's not something I can cook. As for what I can cook, biscuits are probably my best recipe. I learned to cook watching my mother and grandmother and never picked up measuring, which is both good and bad.
