About me
I am a newlywed who resides in Phoenix. I am of Spanish/Basque ascendancy. My biggest influences in the kitchen are my Mother who is an amazing cook. She of course taught me recipes that have been in our family for centuries. Spanish food is based on fresh and mostly readily available ingredients (except for saffron) that tantalize your taste buds. We base most meals on tomatoes, onions, olive oil, pork, sea food, chicken and beef. It is has some similarites to Mediterranean food. My cooking has a modern approach to a Spanish/Mexican fusion of sorts. I have been in the states since I was a child and also learned about typical American home cooked meals. I am also a great Italian food cook thatnks to my Mother, who learned from an Italian cook that worked as a chef in one of my Grandfather's hotels and also from my friend's Mom in Italy. I have learned good baking techniques and will try my hand at basically anything. I hope to be able to provide you with some insight to my family's kitchen and to serve as inspiration to your own creations!
