Anti-soccer mom in Bethesda Maryland. Some of my favorite things to do are birding, reading, watching non-Hollywood films and trying out new recipes. My daughter a vegetarian which makes cooking dinner for the family a lot more challenging.

My Favorite Foods

I love most fish dishes and almost all chicken recipes. My favorite cuisine is probably Indian or Thai. My least favorite cuisine is American.

I'm thinking about making the Italian Beef recipe. What are sport peppers? Are they the same as bell peppers? Thanks!

I also grew up in Elgin and frequented Beef Villa often. I do not get back that often but when I am in Chicago always have to get an Italian Beef and of course pizza!! I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area now and there is a local place that specializes in Chicago sandwiches and their Italian Beef is pretty close to what I remember. Pizza though......still searching!! :-(

Yes the sandwich shop whose signature dish I compare the recipe to is the Beef Villa in the Elgin area. I grew up there.

Is this the same Beef Villa that is in the Elgin/Chicago area??? I LOVED their sandwiches. Still miss them!
