About me

I am a "young" 75 year old senior citizen that enjoys bird watching, nature, the computer, collecting recipes and cooking. I am "retired" from operating our shrimp boat with my husband in Port Aransas, Texas and our last adventure was owning and operating a hobby shop in Corpus Christi, Texas during which we raced RC (radio controlled) cars. I've also enjoyed painting portraits and landscapes, but that has fallen somewhat by the wayside since doing more cooking and freezing/canning fruits and vegetables. Hubbie is an avid gardener.

My Favorite Foods

I've never met a food I didn't like. Well....except maybe anchovies. I am a confirmed dessert addict which keeps me looking for recipes in which I can use Splenda or some other ingredient that will cut down on calories.

I'm glad you enjoyed my families recipe for Homemade Baked Macaroni and Cheese! Thanks for both the medal you awarded me and the terrific recipe review...I really appreciate them!

Hi crittermom. I wanted to ask you about the photo you submitted for Vintage Hamburger Goulash. Did you use a can of crushed tomatoes or a can of diced tomatoes? Thanks!

can you please give this recipe with directions without a bread machine? I know I am probably considered a dinosaur by admitting that I don't own one but I like to do things the old fashioned way. Kneading the bread is a great stress reliever. Plus I like to watch it bake and smell it fresh in the oven. I love quincy's dinner rolls and hope you can hook me up with a grandma version. Thanks

Hi crittermom, Your Coconut Cream Pound Cake looks and sounds delicious. I can't wait to try the recipe. The picture made me smile because I have the same set of dishes that you plated your cake on.
