About Me
I live in a heavenly city for any person loving to cook and eat. Bordeaux's markets are full of nice vegetables, sea-food, delicious duck and goose meat and fish. Of course the wine (red and white), the cheese and the chacuterie are always present and tempting. We can eat very nice food at a very reasonable price at the restaurants of the center of the town; some of them even provide a very fine cuisine at an affordable price.
I am a forty years old married man and I have always been interested by cooking. I like forgetting the troubles of the day while cooking for the dinner together with my wife, discussing and sharing a glass of wine. Unfortunately my organism is not necessarily very adapted to the quite a rich cuisine to which my mother, my grand mother and my wife's family have been used for decades :-( Following a rather sedentary life, I have considered the last new year's eve that it was time to take care of my weight problems and after some study, I have started to change my food habits in accordance with the propositions of Dr Agatson (South Beach Diet) and Dr Dukan. But I know that I will not be able to stick with my new diet for all the rest of my life if I cannot create nice food compatible with it, compensating the frustration of leaving the sugar and the white bread behind me. I have been able to stick with it for three months now, eating quite nice food, without any significant frustration and I have lost 7 Kilos. I would like to continue but I would also like to be able to do this without it becoming a complication for my daily life. So I wanted a tools to simplify the organisation of my cooking activity and BigOven seems to just be this tool. I am trying it for now but I will probably become a paying user quite quickly (except if I can get a free licence thanks to the photos I would like to add to the web site ;-) .
I will use BigOven for developping a recipe box compatible with all three phases of the South beach diet and the four phases of the Dukan diet (they are quite similar in a way). You will hear from me as soon as I advance in this endeavor (since I have had some difficulty to find usable recipe box for these diets)...
See you soon on the web and forums.
Some of my favorite foods
I like mediterranean and oriental food and I also like very much mixing different cuisines: using for example the spices of one cuisine in combination with the ingredients of another one. I love Turkish and French cuisine but I appreciate any food that has a nice calories/taste ratio ;-)
