About me
I'm not much of a cook, but here's my story: When I was a younger man, I "experimented" with making foods. Uh-oh, some of it turned out kinda strange. Like the time I made cookies and they tasted good, but the appearance....NO! My mother affectionately named them "Sewer Softies". They were a sort of English drop cookie and then I put them all in this container and made frosting for them. In the meantime, they all stuck together. The frosting somehow came out quite runny and for some reason, the color was grey. Don't ask me how I got that color, I guess I have a gift. Anyway, I got frustrated and just decided to pour the frosting on top of it all, hence, "Sewer Softies" were born!
As for me now:
I have been in real estate sales since November of 2005 and have over $10 million in sales to my name to date.
I love pets, mostly cats and dogs, and live in East Peoria, with a lovely home overlooking the river and city. The 4th of July is always fun! I love my real estate career and have a great time meeting new people and making friends with them.
I am a Christian and belong to Christ Bible Church in Metamora, IL. I come from a fairly large family, of two sisters and 3 other brothers. Mom and Dad are still around and live in Germantown Hills, IL. Most all the rest of us are close by as well, with the exception of my two youngest brothers who live in Scottsdale, AZ.
Before I got into real estate, I was a piano rebuilder. I did this for 10 years, and loved it, but times have changed and I got older. Moving 500lb pianos all over the place got sort of old, and I had to decide on a career that would accomodate my getting older~~thus real estate. I think I have found my niche!
I figured, "if I can sell a piano (which I could!) fairly easily, and they are luxuries, I certainly can sell houses". My first year I sold almost $3.5 million. Last year was my best (2008) at nearly $5 million in sales. I am considered in the top 20% of agents in the Peoria area market--love it!
One reason I hold to be for my success is persistance. Even though at times the work is extremely challenging, I somehow manage to stick things out. I believe this is mainly due to my love and passion for this work. It is not always easy obtaining listings, nor is it easy to find the appropriate buyers for them, but persistance does seem to pay. It's not how fast you run, it's that you complete the race.
Thanks for taking time to read this, and may you be blessed in your searchings in life!!
