About me
I am an expert-level home cook with commercial kitchen experience, academic training in clinical nutrition and nutritional epidemiology, a huge cookbook library, and an adventurous palate. I volunteer regularly for a community kitchen in DC that distributes over 4,000 meals a day. I'm a big supporter of the Slow Food movement, sustainable agriculture, nutrition education, and school lunch and food labelling reform. You can find me buying weird produce at farmer's markets, eating huitlacoche and grasshoppers at my local Oaxacan restaurant, reading food blogs, and writing restaurant reviews. Life is too short for bad food!
My Favorite Foods
I have a particular interest in Jewish (all types worldwide), Asian (including Southeast Asian and Indian), Eastern European, Greek, and Middle Eastern cooking, but I am a fan of most cuisines and love learning new cooking styles, repertoires and techniques.
