About me

 With two greek parents -- one a proper southern belle, food and entertaining always figured big in my life.  Both my grandfather and uncle were professional chefs and all my aunts and uncles owned restaurants.

Everything revolved around the kitchen.  Cooking together, sharing recipes, new cookbooks etc.  Our home was always open and mom was known for her gracious entertaining.  Our family was always up to try something new and dad was committed to broadening our horizons so we enjoyed all types of food.  My husband kids me and tells me I read cookbooks like novels --which is so true!  And thank goodness I have a walk-in closet for all my china.  Bottom line -- anything having to do with food or the table -- I'm interested!

My Favorite Foods

 I love cooking all types of food.  The more interesting the combination of flavors the more apt I am to try a recipe.  

One of my most treasured memories was a trip to Italy.  Invariably, at almost every restaurant, I asked to speak to the owner to find out how a dish was prepared.  A cooking lesson in Rome tops off this favorite memory.
