About me

   My husband and I are aspiring foodies on a grad school budget.  I always enjoyed cooking and baking at some level but strangley enough, what really inspired me to expand my learning was the movie Ratatoullie. I spent some some of my childhood in Germany and so I have a special fondness for food of that region.  However, I also love french and italian.  I am quite good with classic american comfort food like pot roast, meat loaf, pie, etc...  I make a damn good schnitzel and fresh pumpkin pie if I do say so myself.  I am pretty decent baker as well...I hope to be better.  My fantasy is to sell my own baked goods or open a specialty food store like Ina Garten.  I work in lymphoma research and my husband is getting his Ph.D in legal and political history.

My Favorite Foods

Schnitzel with saurkraut; coq au vin; chicken piccata; pumpkin pie; pork roast with baked apples; potato dumpling (though I can never get my own to hold together); all kinds of risotto recipes (butternut squash risotto...yum)
