About me

Nairlady?  My husband questioned my username as he poked his head in on my time on the computer."Why you are not going to get a one single soul interested with that name, he said as he chuckled half way down the hallway."  I responded to his sarcasim by reminding to him.  " Everything we experience in life has an outer layer which constantly needs to be analyzed and disected before we can peel away at and enjoy its fullest entity".

After, analyzing this software program 'I enthusiastcally decided this would be a great program to incorporate my creative side to cooking.'  I must admit, up until recently, my computer time is limited since we have an active teenager still consuming much of the time.  Nevertheless, I discovered this program to be very user- friendly to the 'newbie' computer blogger. You might have wondered how I became drawn into BigOven's foodie website.  I am a natural 'googler' for recipies, especially Game  (IE, Buffalo, and Venison).  My husband has a longtime friend who owns a big game ranch near the Swannee River, in Gainesville, FL.  John pays us a visit and graciously supplies us with a freezer full of Buffalo and Venison, steaks, and hamburger.  I am always grateful, however, it's always nice to see a video of how to prepare gamey meats and to my enjoyment, I found many new interesting videos on here to help me out.  My favorite flavors are five spice, ginger, curry, cilantro, and garlic.  PS.  If you would like to share with me any ideas, I would love to hear from YOU. I also grow my own herbs and have plenty available for sauces and reductions.  We also enjoy fishing, and enjoy our second home in New Smyrna Beach, FL.  When we cannot catch fish ourselves (and many times the 'big ones' always get away'), there are plenty of fish markets around that supply the locals with the freshest seafood.  Our favorite Florida fish?  Mahi!  Mahi is a mild white meat fish.  We also enjoy Ahi-Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, Yellow-tale, and Salmon.  I have been called a "very" creative cook and enjoy hearing my husband give me 5 stars on my cooking.  I can turn anything into something tasty, and conclude I obtain my cooking skills from my Italian grandmother. In her honor, I have designed a cookbook from her recipies that I have compiled for my family.  I also created a cookbook for my husbands mother of Cuban decent in her honor.  I normally do not have time to jot down my great recipes because I cook whatever I have in my kitchen.  I do what a lot of creative cooks do and that is looking at a desired recipe and 'tweek' it to what I have on stock.

I  sincerely hope this great website will encourage me to take the time and share with others who share a passion for great food!  It would be a great pleasure to hear from you .  Please send me a message so we can swap great ideas and recipies soon.

Thanks for visiting...Laura Galceran 'nairlady'
