About Me
I'm an active member of my community, wife, and mom of one very active boy, a dog and a cat, plus a product director at Dow Jones (think of me as an unhip alpha mom ; ). I wear a lot of hats during my day and love stuff that keeps me organized! (Thank you BigOven!)
I live in my dreamtown of scenic Newburyport, MA - right on the northern most coastal border of Massachusetts where the Merrimack River empties into the Atlantic. You can check it out
here
.
I grew up in a foodie household but was not interested in cooking - that is until I moved out of the house and had to forage for myself. My folks are still shocked to this day that I can cook - but osmosis can be underrated.
I love comfort food (especially any kind of stew), a
really
good hamburger, and homemade bread and pies. I like simple recipes with really good flavor - even better if they cook up quick. I cook a little extemporaneously starting with a recipe and then going off and doing my own thing with it. I tend not to use measuring utensils and go by taste (unless it is a baked good recipe).
Some of my favorite foods
Like I said a
really
good hamburger, lobster risotto, pan seared scallops, kale, any kind of baked good.
