Hi everyone!
I am an avid cook and will turn to my kitchen for sustenance, to unleash creative urges and as a relaxing way to unwind. For me, cooking is meditation! I live in the Niagara region in Ontario, Canada and have access to amazing freshly grown produce: peaches, apples, grapes, leafy greens, organic meats...it is such an amazing place to live for someone who loves to spend time in the kitchen.
I enjoy golfing in the summer, curling in the winter and walk my beautiful Labrador Retriever in the park every day. So looking forward to sharing and learning and recieving inspiration from this site. Bon Appetit
My Favorite Foods
I love vegetables. Last night I made an amazing dish of baby bok choy bathed in chicken stock, butter, garlic and a hint of sesame oil. I served this with a fantastic bbq steak from Costco and a fudge cake for desert. Easy, delicious and I am still getting comments today about how good supper was. I love to entertain and have been known to throw dinner parties for 16 while simultaneously caring for an infant and a 2 year old (this particular memory was 18 years ago). I have developed allergies to gluten and corn so cooking has become a little more challenging but I am having good luck finding substitutions and creating meals that are delicious. I enjoy trying new recipes and will serve the untested with very few catastrophes.
My mother was a professional cook and had her chef's papers. It was not uncommon for her to take orders for breakfast every day and have 3 different meals cooking so my sister's and I would all have a full tummy before school. She was the most amazing person and I inherited my love for cooking from her. She would have loved this site!
