I am a retired Canadian lighthouse keeper. After 32 years on the lighthouses I retired, remarried and moved to live with my new wife in Linz, Austria.

 

      Living on the west coast of Canada I had many recipes for cooking, smoking, marinating, barbecuing and drying salmon, plus many other seafoods.

 

      My new wife is actually Hungarian and introduced me to the fabulous foods from that country as well.

 

      Living in Europe has its advantages as I am exposed to many new foods, markets, meats and sausages than what I had seen in Canada, or could not purchase because of the cost. Many of the foods are still home-made and not available anywhere else.

 

      I like cooking, photography, genealogy, computers, biking, and also being retired.

I like to experiment. If I go to a restaurant and see something I like, then I try it at home. My all-time favourite food is Hungarian cabbage rolls made only by a friend from my wife. The absolute best.
