About me
Having grown up in New York City, I try to duplicate foods that are uniquely New York.
My Favorite Foods
New York Deli corned beef, pastrami, cheesecake are some examples but I also like to cook local fare from the south like gumbo, jambalyaya. I also lived on the west coast (San Francisco) for 20 years and like to cook such foods as cioppino and Chinese dishes. Currently trying to master the technique of "hand pulled noodles". I usually cook Italian, Chinese and regional favorites like paella, Mexican burritos. I like to experiment with new dishes and modify standard ones. My favorites are chicken, pasta, noodles, rice. Almost all my cooking is fresh (not processed), but occasionally will use a canned product as part of a recipe. I like my pasta "al dente", my vegetables crisp (not overcooked) and meats lean (except for corned beef and bacon).
