About me
I live in a suburb of Chicago. Every year my partner and I plant a massive organic garden and grow everything from Italian purple artichokes to zucchini. I also have a perennial herb garden, which I share with my neighbors. At the moment we're trying to establish a community garden to help benefit our community. Gardening is one of my favorite things to do and neighbors from a nearby high rise apartment building often ask to come take a walk through our yard. I worked as a saucier for 5 years and have catered on the side of other professions for almost 20 years. The picture is from last year, when I bought my dog, now she's a giant!
My Favorite Foods
I grew up in a family full of professional and extraordinary home cooks. I learned how to make pasta by hand as a child in the home of one of those cooks. My heart stills sings at the smell of a good fresh tomato sauce. As a cook, I was trained in a classical French kitchen and I have a deep abiding love for the regional dishes of France, particularly Provence and Normandy. I love most foods in general, but I really love pigs-in any form, and they visit my spit all summer long!
