About Me
I love cooking, not so much baking. I read all the time, and can read cookbooks like they were the most exciting novels. My husband doesn't get it, but he appreciates the results!
I have two teenage daughters and we live right in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. It's great to watch the sun come up sitting in our hot tub when it's 20 degrees outside!
Some of my favorite foods
I think my favorite food to eat is a well prepared Prime Rib. Went to a popular chain restaurant for Memorial Day and ordered their prime rib - it was so thin and bland I had to go out that next day and buy my own roast and cook it! Yummy! Favorite foods to prepare? I like foods that have an unexpected quality to them - I have a great recipe for a spicy grilled pork tenderloin that is always a big hit. Most memorable cooking experiences have been my goof-ups: when I was about 12 I decided to surprise my parents with one of the no-bake cheesecake kits - unfortunately I mixed everything together, including the graham cracker crumbs! So we had a fairly tasty "cheesecake pudding" instead. Also one time I made a blackberry buckle and forgot to put the flour in - the berries sat in and then baked in all that sugar until they kind of fermented! Gave each bite an interesting "zing."
