Very lemony, very tasty and very easy to make. My mother once won a contest with her Glazed Lemon Bread recipe. It's a wonderfully moist bread, saturated with lemony flavor, that's great for breakfast, as a dessert or just as a snack. I prefer my mother's recipe over other lemon bread recipes because the glaze is allowed to saturate the bread all the way through...also, heating the glaze to melt the sugar helps it go on smoothly, unlike the usual method which is "grainy" from unmelted sugar.

chance_2 ,Absolutely wonderful. We've already gobbled up half of the loaf! As mentioned, I also reduced the baking soda to 1 tsp.11y
sunnygal ,Just finished making this recipe and of course I had to sample. It was wonderful, sweet and tart. I was looking for a different recipe from the standard holiday recipes and this is it! Plan on making 5 more loaves to give for the holidays.11y
mommyx307 ,Absolutely delicious! VERY easy to make. I've always wanted to try a lemon loaf recipe....this is now in my favorites! Note: I also used just 1 teaspoon of baking powder11y
mountnveiw ,This is my go to bread and the recipe has been requested many times. Thank you for sharing it with us and congratulations to your mother on winning a contest with it. My husband just asked me not to freeze all three loafs.11y
cateagosta ,Omitted the glaze, but Hubby loves this, and keeps asking me to make it. will be a definite return visitor on baking day11y
taracakebaker ,Yummy! ^ ^ and about the glaze, I added less sugar, added a little honey, and lemon extract plus juice, came out as a kind of hard chewy candy top but to me it contrasts nicely with the moist lemony bread, and thanks for the reviews y'all, I went with a tsp of baking powder instead and it was perfect11y
thesonicboom ,Love this! My family keeps buying all these lemons for me to make it!!!;) Love the person who posted this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11y
fastfeet1 ,Very easy and very delicious. Like most others I used 1 tsp of baking powder not 1tbsp. It was a hit with those I shared it with. I will make this again.11y
sarahbradley ,I made this without reading older reviews about reducing the baking powder and it came out great for me, also used 1/2 cup Splenda/sugar baking blend and it tastes great! The glaze is sweet and tart but refreshing! tart but11y
joydraperboes ,It was delicious! BUT--- it fell in the middle. Has anyone figured out why this happens? HELP!11y
lucyblakeley ,I just made this and what a great make i made it for just me and my boyfriend but i dont think it will last us long! From reading the reviews i adjusted the amount of baking powder to one teaspoon and worked great bread is moist not dry and tastes amazing will be making again!!11y
jengerhardt96 ,I've tried a similar recipe from Food Network. I can guess that some of your nuances (vanilla, multiple glazings) will make a good recipe great! Can't wait to try it.11y
culinaryart ,I really liked it, great lemon taste, easy to make. Based on previous reviews, I left out glaze and I'm kind of sad I did. I will surely make it again with the glaze this time.11y
