Suggest a better descriptionTake 1 stick of unsalted butter, slice into 4 pieces and melt in a glass measuring cup for 1 minute. Let cool for 3 to 4 minutes. While the butter is cooling off, mix 4 egg yolks and juice from 1/2 lemon in a second glass measuring cup until smooth. Slowly pour the cooled melted butter into the egg yolks while continually whisking. Consistency should be very smooth. Microwave for 20 seconds then whisk. Microwave for another 20 seconds and then whisk. Add a pinch of salt to taste at the very end. The mixture will thicken as it cools. Note: do not add salt until the end because it causes the mixture to get too hot and you end up with scrambled eggs.
