Sesame chicken is a very popular restaurant or take out dish all over. I was absolutely thrilled to see how easily the dish lent itself to the crockpot! It always comes out fantastic with very little fuss and inexpensive ingredients which you probably have on hand. This can be served at home, potlucks, parties, or anytime you crave for some Chinese take out food.
At first, I thought that the honey would make it super sweet, but it added the perfect amount of sweetness and flavor. It's become a favorite at my house, and everyone loves the tasty, slow simmered flavor that the crockpot imparts. Give it a try!
firebyrd ,Thanks! This is an extremely yummy dish that always goes over very well whenever I serve it. There are hardly ever any leftovers; always a plus. hungryamzilla, looks like you might've been a bit heavy-handed with the scallions--remember they are optional as written in the ingredients!
hungryamzilla ,Liked it a lot, but didn't think the green onions on top were good.It made an otherwise sweet dish a very bitter one. The sauce also didn't thicken with the constarch for the 10 min, but it still got absorbed with the rice. I recommend brown rice.
mrschatmon ,This was really good! I will remember next time that this WILL burn in my crock pot if left on warm!!! It was delicious, smelled amazing and ppl are asking me to make it at work! Thanks for another great recipe!!
apyphil ,Very easy to make and great flavor! Love to find new crockpot meals that the husband likes.
