A simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer made with refried beans and delicious with tortilla or pita chips.
Mix refried beans and taco seasoning. Spread in the bottom of a 9x13 pan or 2 pie plates. Mix softened cream cheese with green chiles, spread on top of bean layer. Add layers of salsa, lettuce, cheese, olives and tomatoes. Serve with corn chips and/or pitas.
This recipe is very versatile, and layers can be altered/swapped out easily. I often skip the tomato if we use a tomato-based salsa. Taco mix can be replaced with mixture of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and chile powder to taste.
