This is a standard pie crust, for Making an 8 or 9 inch pie crust.
Measure flour and salt into bowl . Cut in shortening thoroughly. Sprinkle in water, 1 T. At a time, Mixing well until all the flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl ( 1 to 2 tsp. Of water can be added if needed ).
Gather dough into ball; shape into flattened round on lightly floured board. With floured rolling pin, roll out dough 2 inches larger than your pie pan. Place pastry into your floured pie pan and poke holes in bottom with fork. ( this prevents it from puffing up while baking.) Add your pie filling, trim excess off then bake.
