Boil the milk and sugar together in a heavy-based pot until the sugar is dissolved. Add the condensed milk, butter and golden syrup to the boiling mixture. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring to prevent scorching. Beat mixture until thick. Pour into greased tin and let sit until set. Cut into squares
