Quick and easy cheese sauce using american cheese. This versatile sauce can be adjusted to suit many dishes.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour. Pour in the milk and stir until the mixture thickens. Stirring constantly, mix in cheese and salt. Continue to cook and stir until cheese has melted and all ingredients are well blended.
Mixes well with broccoli and cauliflower or any garden medley vegetables.
Add the garlic powder when using the cheese sauce as a vegetable topping. Or you could omit the salt and use garlic salt alternatively.
