Suggest a better descriptionHave eggs at room temperature. Use ungreased 10" tube pan. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour and sugar once separately before measuring.
Add 1/2 cup sugar and flour together and sift 4 times, set aside.
Combine room temperature egg whites, salt, cream of tartar and vanilla in a large bowl.
Beat medium speed mixer until soft peaks form.
Add the rest of sugar 2TBS at a time and beat high till stiff peaks form. Mix very slowly.
Sift the flour/ sugar mixture just enough to blend. Pour batter in pan. Use knife to pop bubbles in batter very slow and carefully.
Bake 375 35- 40 minutes
