1. peel, core, and chop 2 med apples
2. in medium saucepan combine apples, sugar, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cloves.
3. bring to boil and reduce heat.
4. in a mixing bowl combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and baking soda.
5. cut in butter until mixture resembles cookie crumbs
6. set aside 1/2 cup of mixture
7. Press remaining mixture into bottom of ungreased baking pan.
8. spread apple mixture and top with remaining crumble
9. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 mins or top is golden.
