Cake like cobbler inspired by Paula Deen, serve with vanilla ice cream for a quick and easy dessert.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Place apples, sugar, water, cinnamon & nutmeg in saucepan and cook until apples are soft and liquid becomes syrupy (You can exchange this step with 1 can of apple pie filling for a super fast dessert)
3. Place butter in a deep baking dish and place in preheated oven to melt
4. Whisk together remaining ingredients slowly to prevent clumping
5. Remove butter dish from oven before it browns, pour batter into baking dish, do not stir, gently spoon the apples on top of the mixture and then pour syrup over the top.
6. Bake for 30-40 minutes until light brown and cooked through.
