In small bowl, combine egg, milk, applesauce and butter, mix well. Add egg mixture to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened. Batter will be lumpy. In small bowl, toss cranberries with 2 tb flour, fold into batter. Spoon batter into 12 greased 2 1/2 inch muffin cups. In another small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle over muffins. Bake in preheated 400 oven 20-25 mins or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
