Heat oven to 350 F. Peel and slice apples. Crumble flour, butter, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Don't mix it too long - keep it crumbly. Butter an 8" shallow pan. Put apples in pan. Spread crumble mixture in a thick layer over apples in pan.
Bake 45 minutes, until alpples are soft and crumbles are bubbling hot.
Allow to cool slightly, serve hot or cold with whipped cream, sour cream or vanilla ice cream.
