Spray a three quart oblong baking dish, 13 inch, by 9 inch, by 2 inch with Pam. Peel, core, and slice apples enough to make 16 slices. Start at the large end of the crescent rolls, and unroll. Place one apple slice on each of the 16 crescent roll triangles. Roll crescent roll around apple slice and place seam side down in the baking dish. Melt butter in a small sauce pan, add sugar and cinnamon. Stir and heat just enough to mix well. Pour sugar mixture over the dumplings. Pour the Mt. Dew around and between the dumplings. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Optional: Top with Vanilla ice cream.
