Preheat oven to 400?F. In medium bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in apple and ginger.
Beat egg, cream, and lemon peel. Add to dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened.
Knead on floured surface 5-6 times. Shape into 8" round approximately 1" thick. Cut into 8 wedges.
Bake 15-20 minutes.
Drizzle glaze over warm scones.
