Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray 13x9 inch pan with Pam or coat bottom and sides with butter.
Sprinkle brown sugar, raisins and walnuts evenly on bottom of pan.
Mix together maple syrup, Grand Marnier and mollasses and drizzle over the sugar, walnuts and raisins then set this aside.
Peel, core and cut apples and mix together with nutmeg, cinnamon, lemon juice, brown sugar and corn starch. I use my hands and mix until apples are well coated. Lay apples on top of brown sugar, raisins and walnuts to form as even a layer as apples will allow!
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs and milk. When these are mixed well, add dry ingredients and mix until smooth, scraping down the sides. Spread batter over apples.
Bake approximatley 40 to 45 minutes. Ovens do vary, so use the knife method. When a butter knife is inserted into the middle of the cake and comes out clean, your done! Take it out! Let sit for 10 minutes, then turn upside down on another pan like you would a pineapple upside down cake. The gooey bottom will become the top and seep down, so make sure your pan has sides to hold the glaze!
This will ooze over the sides of your dish, so make sure you have some foil on the bottom of your oven. That way, when the oven cools down, you can take that foil out, toss it and still have a clean oven for the next cooked masterpiece!
