Oven 450
1.Par and slice apples. Sift dry ingred. together and mix w/apples.
2. Line pie pan with pastry. Fill w/apple mix. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon and nutmeg. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust.
3. Bake in hot oven 450 for 15 min. Decrease temp to 350 and bake 45 min.
Hints:
1. Use cold water and do not overmix crust. Roll crust larger than pan and bottom crust needs larger than top.
2. To make crust shiny - brush top crust with milk.
3. Fill crust heaping with apples
4. Wet edge of bottom crust-cover with top crust and press around edge. Trim off excess. Cut slits in top crust to let steam escape.
