Suggest a better description1. Preheat oven to 375F. Lightly grease sides of 9x13 metal baking pan.
2. Prepare streusel topping; cover and refrigerate it.
3. Prepare crust: into a large bowl, measure flour, sugar and salt. Cut 1/2 cup cold butter (1 stick) into small bits. With fingertips, blend butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles fine crumbs; press evenly onto bottom of baking pan. Bake crust 15 to 20 minutes until golden (crust may crack slightly.)
4. Meanwhile, in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, cook apples, raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, and the remaining 3 tablespoons butter 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until apples are tender. In cup, mix cornstarch and lemon juice. Stir lemon juice mixture into apple mixture until thickened. remove from heat.
5. spoon apple mixture over crust. Break streusel topping into chunks and scatter over apple mixture.
6. bake 30 minutes or until streusel is bronwed. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. When cold, cut into 15 pieces.
