Easy, fruit dessert combining apples with a delicious, lemon custard sauce.
Wash and core apples.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place apples in a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes for small apples, 30 for medium.
Beat egg white until stiff peaks form.
Add egg yolk and beat well. Add sugar, milk, lemon juice and rind and beat well. Add butter and beat until blended.
Pour custard over apples and continue baking until apples are tender, about 15-20 minutes, depending on size of apples.
Serve hot. Place lemon custard sauce on serving dish and place apple on the sauce. Spoon additional sauce over apple and if you’d like, fill the core with whipped cream.
