Suggest a better description1. Trim fat from ribs. Place ribs in 4-6 quart pot with enough water to cover them. Bring to boil; reduce heat. Simmer, covered for 1 ½ hours or until tender. Drain.
2. For sauce, in small saucepan cook onion and garlic in hot oil until tender. Stir in ketchup, preserves, vinegar, pepper, steak sauce, and chili powder. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, about 10 minutes or until mixture thickens slightly. Stir occasionally. Set aside.
3. In small bowl, stir together cumin and salt. Sprinkle mixture evenly onto both sides of ribs; rub into meat
4. Preheat grill, reduce to medium. Adjust grill for indirect cooking. Cover, grill for 15 minutes or until ribs are tender. Brush occasionally with sauce.
