A lovely cold meze......
Add artichokes to a large bowl of water with juice from half a lemon and let it rest while preparing the next step.
In a large pot, heat olive oil and saute onions. Drain artichokes and add, along with broad beans. Add hot water, sugar, dill, juice from half a lemon and salt to pot. Cover and cook on medium heat until artichoke is soft and beans are tender. Cool in broth.
Serve artichoke hearts by straining ingredients from broth; surround with broad beans and onions and sprinkle with fresh dill.
If you don''t wish to clean artichoke hearts or can''t find fresh artichokes or broad beans, check out your local middle eastern grocer for frozen artichokes and your local chinese grocer for frozen broad beans. Don''t overcook.
