In a large bowl whisk the eggs milk salt and pepper with a whisk. Add the bread cubes bacon cheddar cheese parsley and chives. Toss the mixture well to coat the bread thoroughly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat the baking pan with the butter. Pour the egg bread mixture into the prepared baking pan. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and turn the oven to broil. Broil the strata for five minutes or until browned and crunchy on top keeping an eye out so it doesn’t burn.
