Great as a side dish or a main dish.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In 8" skillet, brown beef, drain fat and set aside. In same skillet, fry bacon just until crisp. Remove bacon to paper towels, set aside. Pour off all but 1/4 cup drippings. Saute onion and garlic in drippings for 5 minutes or until onion is tender. Transfer onion and garlic into a 2-quart casserole. Add remaining ingredients. Bake 50 to 60 minute or until hot and bubbly, adding reserved bean liquid if beans seem too dry.
Also works well cooked in a crock pot instead of baked.
