Slice sausage into 1/2 inch pieces then quarter each slice.
Place pieces in saute pan on medium-high to sear and brown lightly.
Remove from pan, then rinse and drain.
Preheat oven to 425.
While sausage is draining, add uncooked ziti, water, and sauce to a 9x13 baking dish.
Mildly stir to combine . Add sausage to dish; stir to combine.
Cover dish with foil tightly and bake for 35-40 minutes or until pasta is tender.
Remove from oven and top with mozzarella.
Cook an additional 10 minutes uncovered.
The zestier the sauce, the better the taste.
If using sauce that includes meat, might need additional time for pasta to become tender.
