Note: Makes 2 - 9” x 13” pans.
Stir together first 3 ingredients
Syrup: Boil together
3 Cups Sugar
½ Cup Honey (small ½ cup)
2 Cups Water
1 Lemon juice and whole rind
1) In pan layer dough and melted butter using 1/3 of the filo.
2) Layer dough and nut mixture using 1/3 of the filo.
3) Layer remaining 1/3 of the dough with butter.
Cut into 2 inch diamond shapes. Pour on rest of butter.
Bake at 300º for 1 hour.
Pour on syrup while hot. Throw away approximately 1 cup of syrup.
