Beat shortening and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients, add alternately with bananas and to sugar mixture. Beat smooth. Stir in vanilla. Bake in greased 9 x 5 loaf pan in 325 F oven for 60-70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Cut into three-fourth inch slices.
