Heat oven to 180C
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well.
Add banana, mix thoroughly.
Add baking soda to milk, then add to creamed mixture.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Bake at 180ºC for 50-55 minutes.
Cool in tin for 10 minutes before turning onto cooling rack.
Ice with chocolate or lemon icing.
